Correspondence of the Baldwin and Hadley families of South Canterbury, Connecticut. Primarily the correspondence of Sarah Louise Hadley, a teacher, and her mother, Sarah Baldwin Hadley. Contains letters from Brooks Hadley, Sarah Baldwin Hadley's husband, as well as their divorce petition. Also includes correspondence from Sarah Baldwin Hadley's siblings, Abram Baldwin, Hannah Burnham Baldwin, Dr. Helen Baldwin, Lucy Baldwin, and Henry Baldwin, as well as the correspondence of her sons, Henry Brooks Hadley and David B. Hadley, and her father, Elijah Baldwin. Includes financial papers, bills and receipts, deeds, estate inventories and probate records, tax records, and journals. School notebooks and notes are also included. Contains some materials related to the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Contains some dried flower specimens as a result of Sarah Baldwin Hadley's membership in the Connecticut Botanical Society. Includes a folder of dairy inspections to Sarah Baldwin Hadley's farm in Canterbury. Genealogy of the Hadley and Baldwin families is included.

They hosted events first in Macon, Ga., and, after 1933, in Savannah, Ga., where they socialized with students from Wesleyan Conservatory, where Mary studied journalism, and Mercer University.
